Hany Medrano
I’ve been fighting cancer for 13 years. At 7 years old, I started to lose my balance which was the first symptom. The day the doctors shared the results for all of the studies and tests, I was in shock. I never even knew what the inside of a hospital looked like until then. So many of the things I used to do, I wasn’t able to do after my diagnosis. My mom is my support to keep on fighting – she prepares healthy food and fresh juices to support my immune system.
I don’t let cancer bring down my activities. My last surgery was really painful and a friend told me she was surprised at how quickly I got out of the hospital. My message to other kids with cancer is that your life doesn’t have to accommodate cancer. Cancer has to get used to your life.
