#fundraisingfriday is the perfect time to inspire our cancer-fighting community with another @lamarathon TEAMpablove Runner Spotlight! 📣 Meet Nurse Jackie O'Connell ✨️🏆🎗

Jackie is a nurse practitioner (NP) in the pediatric intensive care unit at Children's Hospital Los Angeles.

She says: "I started running early in my career as a #pediatriconcology nurse practitioner as a way to process and cope with the heartache and grief that I witnessed at work. More than 10 years later, I am still running for the same reasons.👟💛

Childhood cancer research remains critically underfunded, with only 4% of research dollars awarded to childhood cancers. Kids with cancer are most often pulled from school and can't interact with their friends. They may feel lonely and are in need of a creative outlet.

Pablove works hard to address both of these issues. Since 2016, I have witnessed the positive impact of Pablove as a member of the Medical Team at the Pablove Shutterbugs Alumni Summer Camps.

I am so grateful to be a part of such an amazing non-profit organization that improves the lives of children living with cancer + invests in underfunded, cutting-edge cancer research. 🪙
