Born with a severe cleft lip and palate, William endured many craniofacial surgeries over the course of his life, leaving painful scar tissue in his lip + cheek that continued to grow.

Eventually, a biopsy of the tissue revealed that William had a rare Desmoid Tumor.

After 12 cycles of chemo treatments in 2021, William's tumor continued to grow. His oncologists at Dana Farber wanted to try something new. They were able to get him trial use for a drug that showed promising results in adults.

Now 7 months in, this new medication has given a new hope to William and his family. While the side effects have not been easy, his last 2 scans have showed no new tumor growth. Throughout his difficult journey, William continues to stay positive and focuses on the beauty in life.

After spotting a flyer for our program at the hospital, William enrolled in Pablove Shutterbugs as a way to express himself and learn something new.

Perhaps the biggest thing he got out of it? "Shutterbugs is FUN!" says William. (Along with a new appreciation for reflections, which are his favorite thing to photograph. 📸)

His mom, Amanda, says,
"William is super creative and is enjoying having this outlet! He really loves being a part of this community"

William adds...
"It makes me feel good that people care enough to give kids something to look forward to."

We are honored to help bring joy + light to kids like William.

When you give the gift of Shutterbugs, you spark a lifelong gift of the arts.

today we honor the life and work of one of the wor today we honor the life and work of one of the world's most legendary photographers, Elliott Erwitt. 📸

offbeat and often humorous, his playful black-and-white portraits and candids make magic from the mundane.

his documentary work reminds us to look for the wit, wonder, + irony in everyday life.

Elliott passed away peacefully today at age 95, but the work he left us will live on forever, and continue inspiring our Shutterbugs students.

"The whole point of taking pictures is so that you don't have to explain things with words. To me, photography is an art of observation. It's about finding something interesting in an ordinary place…

I've found it has little to do with the things you see and everything to do with the way you see them."
